"FREE" Mulch Give-Away
The City of Warsaw was the first in the State of Indiana to successfully develop a mulch give-away program (1991). In 1992, we were awarded the "Governor's Award for Excellence in Recycling."
When residents in the City of Warsaw have yard waste, (grass clippings, leaves and small branches) that need hauled away, our employees place this yard waste in an area where they later grind it into mulch.
Once in the spring and once in the fall, we offer this mulch back to the citizens of Warsaw free of charge. All that is required of you, is to bring a truck, trailer or other type of container, and the employees at the Street Department will load the mulch for you to put on your gardens or flower beds. You can get as many loads as you want during any of the 4-hour Saturday times. The mulch area is on West Center Street, just west of the four-way stop entrance to Boggs Industrial Park.
This program has been very successful in the past, and will hopefully continue to be so in the future. Unfortunately, neither City nor County residents are allowed to drop off their brush at this site. In addition, we cannot accept brush from County Residents or Contractors.

Residents are invited to bring trailers, dump trucks, trucks and/or small containers and Public Works employees will load your free mulch between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon on the above Saturdays at West Center Street, just inside Boggs Industrial Park. (If there is inclement weather on some days to prevent pickup, the schedule may be extended.)
Dial-A-Truck
Through this program, the Street Department places a truck on your property for an entire weekend. We drop off either a 1/2-Ton or a 1-Ton dump truck on a Friday afternoon and then pick it up the following Monday morning. The homeowner can use this service for a number of reasons: however, some restrictions do apply. Please note: This service is not provided for contractors or rental properties, but must be homeowner occupied residences.
This program is offered from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. If you are interested in scheduling a Dial-A-Truck for a weekend, call the office (372-9561) during the week prior to the weekend you are wanting a truck. Sorry, no "early" reservations accepted.
Sidewalk Replacement Program
The Public Works Department will administer a Sidewalk Replacement Program using the guidelines adopted by the City of Warsaw Board of Public Works and Safety. This program will be a joint effort between the City and the property owners. Click Here to download additional information and a copy of the request form.
Property owners wanting to be considered for the Sidewalk Replacement Program will need to review the guidelines and forward the attached “Sidewalk Repair / Replacement Program Request Form”. After the City receives the completed form, a representative from the Public Works Department will contact the property owner. The affected area(s) will then be measured, and an invoice for one-half (50%) of the cost of the concrete will be sent to the property owner. After the City receives payment from the property owner for one-half (50%) of the cost of the concrete to be poured, the City will schedule construction. If you have any questions, please call 372-9561.
