NOTE: Only the day of the observed holidays' routes are affected. All other days remain the same. Recycling will observe the same holidays and follow the same routes as trash pick-up. City offices will be closed on the holidays listed below.

Independence Day – Friday, July 3, picked up on Thursday the 2nd
Labor Day – Monday, September 7, picked up on Tuesday the 8th
Veterans Day – Wednesday, November 11, picked up on Thursday the 12th
Thanksgiving & Day after Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 26, picked up Wednesday the 25th/ Friday, November 27, picked up on Monday 30th.

Here is what NOT to recycle

Paper: Magazines, newspapers, slick ads, junk mail, small cardboard boxes, cereal boxes, office paper, catalogs, phone books, grocery bags, large boxes. (Please tie and set large boxes beside recycling cart.)

Paper: Wax or plastic-coated paper, food contaminated paper, paper towels, facial tissue, wet paper of any kind, paper used to house train pets or for bird cages. |

Glass: clear, brown, or green food container jars and bottles. Please remove lids and wash.
|
|
Glass: Window glass, mirrors, ceramics, drinking glasses, eye glasses, cooking glass, flower pots, light bulbs.
|
| Plastic: #1, #2 containers (numbers are located inside the recycling triangle on the bottom of most containers), 2-liter pop bottles, milk jugs, soap and hair care containers. Please remove lids and wash. |

Plastic: #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 plastic bottles, diapers, swimming pools, toys, toothbrushes, combs, flower pots, Tupperware, cookware, film materials (shrink wrap, dry cleaning bags, department store bags), plumbing supplies, Styrofoam products.

| Metal: Aluminum and metal beverage cans, steel food containers and empty aerosol cans. All labels can remain on. |
|
Metal: Scrap metal of any kind, fencing, siding, window frames, plumbing fixtures or fittings, electrical parts or wiring. |
