Fire prevention is one of the most important aspects of the fire service, and the Warsaw Fire Department is dedicated to the citizens of Warsaw in providing fire safety information and programs to all ages.  Firefighters are available for station tours and fire safety programs at the schools upon the request of the teachers.  Teachers are encouraged to contact the fire department for individual classroom programs.  Firefighters cover basic fire safety issues for the children as well as show the children what they look like, and sound like, in their gear.  This is an excellent opportunity for the children to learn not to be afraid of firefighters and not to hide if they’re in a fire.   The Department also participates in career fairs and health and safety fests.

The Department has developed a driver education safety program.  Members of the department provide driver safety and emergency response information to area high school students through the schools’ driver education classes.  Members relate experiences and actual situations they have encountered by way of a power point presentation and JAWS demonstration.  We appreciate the opportunity to work with area schools on this important matter of driving safety.

Fire Truck Book Mobile

The Warsaw Fire Department, along with our sponsors, We-Fab, Lakeside Chevrolet and D Signs, has built a fire truck book mobile which is available to all elementary schools in the Warsaw School system.  The purpose of the book mobile is to promote safety to children in our community in a fun and educating manner by providing reading materials on fire safety and related topics.  During the time the book mobile is at a school, the children can choose a book to read during their library time.  For further information, please contact the office at Station #2, 574-372-9502.
